    I jumped on the salvage auctions and found quite a few duramax's burned up which would make a perfect donor for mine. i'm starting to lean towards throwing in a used longblock and running it stock while I build the original motor as I can afford it, which may take months to years to do it right...

    The worst piston, but none of them cracked surprisingly. You can see where the outer edge started to melt away.. Driver's side.. Would you guys worry about that discoloring?
