LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

No, even with the either it just sped up the crank. Mind you, it was only about a one second spray in the filter.. I know it's bad to use it so was hoping it would just give it a nudge. I'm really thinking electrical problems of some sort. I had a strange cruise thing almost like in a gasser...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

I'm looking at a launch one from amazon, as soon as my clients pay up I'll be ordering it in. None of the stores or shops in my area rent, I've even tried begging. A friend whose a mobile mechanic has a snap on that found and reset a lost communication code in the winter but it didn't seem to...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

Update- All lines from the cp3 to the fuel supply have been replaced now. Filter is holding prime. Schrader valve is getting nice clean fuel. Still no start. Not even with wd40. Checked codes again (have never had any lights illuminate but bulbs could be missing from the cluster) my glow plug...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

The tank is getting taken out and cleaned inside and out. I doubt there's anything good in there after seeing that. But- since it came back on the tow truck I've been bypassing the tank and using fresh fuel from a jerry can. Anything from the filter back (with the exception of the return line...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

Well, air in the fuel. More accurately there's some fuel in the air coming through the schrader. Since it's new line from supply to the filter, it's not there. The lines from the filter head look rough. Guess I'll replace them. Nobody local has them in stock, so do they use any special fittings...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

The fprv was something I was suspecting before the leaky line made itself known. As I had mentioned, the longer I was actually using the truck the less I was thinking injectors. The last week it ran there was barely any lopes or smoking. I just saw a video where they just unhooked the return...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

The bottle test is just removing the return line at the top/back of the engine and replacing it with a length into a bottle crank for 15 seconds and check to see how much fuel is in the bottle correct? I'm hoping it's not the cp3 or injectors, if it is that means I'm going to have to push it...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

It's also not throwing any new codes at all. Not even when it first died. Two hours to wait for the tow truck so I had time to pull out the reader. All I have is glow plug module A (I think) still, which has been there since I got it and a short code for my abs pump- looks like the ground wire...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

The tank is definitely a concern. The tow truck couldn't get near my driveway and I'm hoping to not have to drop the tank on the street.. or push that beast uphill and into my driveway (shared and tight fit on a good day) 02 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 ECSB LB7 99 Silverado 1500 ECLB 5.3L 02...

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

I don't think I have a pressure tester. There was fuel at the Schrader valve when I was trying to prime it though 02 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 ECSB LB7 99 Silverado 1500 ECLB 5.3L 02 Silverado 1500HD CCSB 6.0L

LB7: Died on the road and won't fire?!

-Sorry for the novel, the truck is a pain- Hi all, back again. So, the backstory on this truck first- she came from auction for a pretty good steal at $1500. Was running but had intermittent security no start issues, no prndl, no trans cooler hooked up and a blown brake line. Snapped a tie rod...

Well it hung in there long enough to redo the cooler lines (again- long story there hah) and put in a little bigger cooler. Changed the nsbu while that was all going on and she's a happy unit again.. and so am I! No more water for Franky! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's the tan one not the black. So.. that should mean it's been done. I'm sure it's going to fail again, I have no doubt at all. But for now, I'm rolling it down a bit on the very long list of things to fix/replace/diagnose. This truck is still very much a work in progress. That said- it better...

Quick update- had her booked in but looks like I can cancel that repair bill. As much as I didn't think it was possible the transmission guy was right. It has actually dried out and it's working perfectly now. Even today in the rain. It's a total fluke that I even know that but I had a leaky...

Riverdale, I think that's the place my tow truck driver mentioned when I bought it. I couldn't remember the name or if it was Sutton or Keswick. Thank you! I'll give them a call for sure and get it down there once my road reopens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Allison 5sp: Oops or ok?

I'm not a tiny girl but I can fit under there no problem. I'll work up my courage and do it myself I guess. I'm not risking any worse damage driving it that way. Seems like a bad idea, even for someone brand new to diesels. I'm in Canada, none of the suppliers on Amazon ship here but I get a...

LOL! That's what I was thinking exactly! I just don't have a jack anymore. Let a friend "borrow" it. Between this truck and good deeds, I'm gonna need to pick up a third job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
