Allison 5sp: Busted bellhousing WTF?!?!
Who did the your trans?, were the locator dowels between the motor and trans in place?, were all the bolts on the bellhousing tight?,,,, There is a crack trans builder that throws away the locator dowels and just uses the bolts to aline everything!,,when asked why HE does that?,the answer come...- duramaxc15h32

Help: torquing converter bolts
I like the air gun that I have seen(with my own eyes) the "crack trans builder" use on several trucks trans,,when asked,"Why are you doing that?", I was told, "It's faster",,So how do you know if the bolts are torqued right?,,I asked,,,," I just turn down the air wrench",came back the reply...- duramaxc15h32

I would stick with what works, until the blue rings are proven otherwise.......the last sentence has the words,"VERY EXPENSIVE" in it, so how can the claim of being cheaper be trumpeted ?.......the trouble is WHO is going to test them in there motor to find out?- duramaxc15h32

You got one!......Tony Burkhard,,,,Tony is the duramax engine builder that uses the good parts. And there are other engine builders out there as well that use good parts the list is long and proven. Look at how good Tony's truck runs!.... WHY would anybody want to deal with someone who does...- duramaxc15h32
