    I'm a diesel dummy.:confused: I dont understand what is EGT's mean. Just wanted to know what if any benefits would be from taking the cat off. I have a 2004 GMC 2500HD. Just han new intectors put in last week. Has 137,000 miles on it.

    Will I gain anything by just taking off the cat converter? I dont want to do anything else but take the cat converter off. I was told there would be a 30hp gain. True or false? The only other thing that has been done is a cold air intake.

    Thanks. How can the bad injector identified? Yes LB7. 2004 GMC, 134,000 miles. Smokes at idle, clears up at higher RPMs.

    When your told you have a bad injector, what exactly is wrong with the injector. Dirty nozzle or what? Will injector cleaner solve the problem and which one to use. I use Lucas.

    Need injectors, so they say! Its LB7 motor with 134,000 miles. The pressures are good (34) and the fuel pressure regulator is good. What do new injectors cost, and the cheapest place to by? I was told about $275 each.:confused:

    Look guys. Im not a diesel head. I know squat about them. What I do know, is the smoke at idle is not right. Im going to have the truck looked at Tuesday. Its fuel smoke, black, other than that it runs good. Im trying to geta feel as to whats goin on. I dont know what motor it is. Just looking...

    My 04 dmax smokes when it idles. Other than this, it runs fine. Its stock except for the air intake. What could cause this? Injector or a sensor? Gona have it looked at next Tuesday. What do ya think?
