    That shop they took it to was bad from the get go. I’m yet to find a need to replace a cylinder head, let alone two, when it’s been diagnosed as a head gasket issue on one of those trucks. And if that’s the company the shop used for injectors I can’t imagine who they used for cylinder heads.

    Without a full tear down I wouldn’t guess at what happened. I mean you have to pull the crank anyway to replace the crank gear.     Finally getting around to painting my family, living room area. I hate painting. But once done I can put up new window casing which at least means getting to play with saws and nails. Need a break from the ol‘ wrench and sockets. And to be combative…..go Bulldogs !

    Lift pump

    Only seen one customer with a fleece in tank unit in his LML. Put a gauge on it for curiosity and found the pump put out 18psi……!? Let me know what you guys have found these pumps put out when checking. I keep expecting it to leak one day

    Chevelle upgrades.

    Did you see something in your tear down that showed or looked like you were not getting even distribution to all the cylinders ? or is it more of a theory test and just see what happens ? Keep it up. Seeing your Chevelle makes me want to stop with the side work and get going on mine

    Agreed. First pay a reputable mechanic to diagnose concern prior to spending $4k. Don’t recommend only doing visual inspection to justify injector replacement

    Just tell shop or yourself to order from dealer. They can SPAC case a back ordered part to see if anyone in the country has one and will sell it. But, if it’s on national control than dealer has to order it and just wait. Last one I did a month ago only took about 1 week to get.

    Monitor options?

    I’d say the biggest thing I dislike about them is that they stayed plugged in to the DLC (obd2) port. I’ve seen so many strange issues come in at the dealer where it’s caused by the mileage trackers, foldout steps, etc. Of course more so on vehicles with a HS GMLAN electrical architecture

    Is it just archaic now to have the triple pillar mount gauges with the needles ? Believe me that little banks idash monitor thing seems pretty cool for being compact and displaying so much. And the edge for its large display that’s super easy to read

    Well OP if you’re convinced that this is hardware issue vs software replace the “janky” ECM and put whatever tune you have back in it. Then see what happens.
