This is why you block your EGR

Mine was terrible like that as well. It took me a ton of cleaner to get it out. Water/Meth injection may take thousands of miles to clean things up. Mine took a bottle of superclean with scalding hot water & a brush/scraper to get the intake tract clean.

    ? that haunt me

If you had a really big forehead, would it be a fivehead? Wouldn't you think the skin on your forehead would be called foreskin? Foreskin... if it was 4" I would not talk about it. Tenskin, elevenskin, now you can brag..... A foot..... footskin should go on your feet.... what to do...

    ? that haunt me

Why do we park on driveways & drive on parkways? Why do boys bicycles have the top bar & girls bikes do not, but guys have nuts that can be crushed? Why do they have Handicapped Motorcycle plates? How do blind people know when they are done wiping?

    valve springs(gasser)

No matter what you do, check your springs for tension before you install. I recently was shocked to find that a motor I was spinning to 7600rpm had the wrong springs. They were 30psi short on the seat alone. I changed the cam & just needed to shim them for more seat pressure to make them...

    valve springs(gasser)

Sounds like you can put 2 .060's under each spring & get close. I would work backwards, first measuring the actual spring height required to get 120# on the seat (find someone with a spring tester). Then see if you still have enough lift before coil bind. It is not uncommon to lose 10-20psi...

    valve springs(gasser)

Personally a .500" spring with a .496 lift cam is cutting it close. Did you verify every spring installed height & also measure the coil bing height to be completely sure you were safe. Generally .060"extra is a good minimum. Even though you are using a good brand spring, I would possible...

    Question: Gun safes

I have a Liberty "Lincoln Series" with the standard dial. It is simple to use & you never need to worry about batteries. Their quality is top notch, although one of the higher priced safes. Buy big, as they tend to get full fast. I bought mine & my wife remarked that she did not expect it...

    Kitchen Engine Building

LOL...... They also hate when you bake on engine coatings in their stove & measure/mix paint with their nice glass measuring bowls. FYI, paint remover cleans them without removing the markings....

13.3:1 Compression on a stock gasoline engine?

The small piston diameter reduces the required time for the flame front to travel across the chamber & therefore less time to cause detonation. This combined with very high rpm & you can run some incredible compresion numbers. My R1 Yamaha only needs 89 octane with 11.8:1 & actually runs better...

    Kitchen Engine Building

Yes it is all bolted in now. I only got to work on it 2 days in the last 2 months due to other projects but at least there is progress. I'm already doubting it will move under its own power this year.... The bed is still a hostage at the body shop & I need it on the frame to build the...

    Kitchen Engine Building

880hp in a 2500lb car should be fun. Will it see any street use? Gotta love superchargers... They make some power. AV gas is even $5 here & the car is not real happy on that anyway, but it works in a pinch.

    Kitchen Engine Building

Somewhere around 12:1. It's a 402BBC. Just removed them to flycut for more valve clearance. Never remeasured the volume after cutting. I cannot wait to see what drums of race fuel costs this year for my 6mpg street car. Lonnie

Nothing like a white surgically clean area to assemble your pistons... Why does this stuff make most women mad? LOL. Lonnie

Can someone explain to me how our CP3 works?

How about running the pump through an oil pressure switch so it will not come on if the engine is not running.

    Motorcycles.... whos got em?

2000 Yamaha R1 All stock w/ a 50hp NOS direct port fogger system. 46mpg if you drive it somewhat sensibly... 30mpg if you beat it. The $200+ rear tire that lasts 2000mi. offsets a lot of the gas savings, but still worth every dollar spent.

Well if your going to get

Sorry to hear, but it is better than being stranded on the side of the road. I also have great luck with this. Bought tires for my Firebird Wednesday & pulling into work Friday, I heard a hiss, only to find a broken razor knife blade stuck in the tread on one. What a way to start the...

    So no more fuel pickup?

Restriction is based on pressure drop per a given length. The pressure loss of the 1 foot section of 1/4" tube on the motor would have only 10% of the restriction compared to the section from the tank to the engine if it was 1/4" as well. This is why the fuel line is 1/2". In this case, the...

    So no more fuel pickup?

Actually, a 1/2" line is effectively 4x the area of a 1/4".... a huge difference.

I'm back, and the Chevelle that's cut down my internet time

Looks great, love the fat tires & trick suspension. That is going to be a nice all around car. Nothing like taking a classic body style & adding all the modern items to make it handle & run with todays technology. It looks to be very straight & professionally detailed... almost too nice to...
