    That temp reading is what my edge CTS is reading, not the dash guage. My fan is usually fully engaged once the Ect goes over 200* though. It runs quite a bit during the summer here since it is over 100* everyday, sometimes getting up to 110 or higher. Dunno how bad the smaller grilled affects...

    X2. I have 38s with 3.73s. Only time I wish I had a taller gear is when trailers get over 7-8k lbs ....then it gets doggy in first an OD.

    Mine wouldn't break 215. That's a 9500lb truck with a 7500lb trailer, 38" tires, stock gears, 7% grade 4miles long and blown headgaskets. Not too shabby.... the fan was blowing full bore but it never got hotter than 215.

    Seen quite a few trucks running.g them with no complaints. I don't, but in my mind, as long as the stacks tall enough, you shouldn't have a problem seeing past it. I would think a short stack and a heavily fueled truck might be different, but like I said, I don't have one.

    What could be the cause?

    I would think a boost leak would mean higher egt's.....but i could be wrong. Disconnect the cold charge pipe at the intake and cap it. On your 3" cap, put an online air guage, ball valve an use that to control how much pressure u feed it.
