    Hawk Rescue

They can be high strung & certain people they do not take to, but once they gain your trust, they can be more affectionate than a dog. Mine comes over, lays down on you & wants petted or insists on riding on your shoulder when moving from room to room.

Birds always fascinate me. Here is a picture I took last spring. Of course, this one stays in my house.

    Bird electrocution

Just use a mousetrap. Put some peanutbutter on it for bait. You will find their little heads caught in the trap.

Not at the moment, but I did move it a few inches closer to the dash. The steering wheels in the older trucks always felt too close to your chest.

Carb and Throttle body cleaner is your friend

Carb cleaners vary greatly..... Gumout is now junk & barely cleans carbs. CRC & Berkebile, are rather strong & immediatley remove some paints. Brake cleaner is pretty harsh & I would never put it on paint. As for Blechewite, it cleans very well. It removes all wax also, but do not use it...

    Dumb and Dumber

Wish I would have left PA as well. Got about 2 feet of snow in 1 day. Lost power Friday night & got it back today over 5 days later. Spent days running snow blowers, filling fuel tanks & buying food at McDonalds. Then best of all, my 1 generator threw a rod today. Did I already say...

    Tuning electronic throttle position

Everything is already cut/welded to make it fit the truck. I have to work with the limitations of the existing firewall & floor. I'm a mechanical engineer, so I already went through all the measurements to make it work... they just dont work without cutting the truck up or lowering the...

    Tuning electronic throttle position

It is an 05 LLY setup. I had limited places to mount the throttle pedal on the firewall & due to the length of the lever, it is slightly high, but still allows enough travel for full throttle. I would like to push it down about 3/4" & put a stop on the top limit to make this new position...

    Tuning electronic throttle position

I also saw this min TPS value in timing tables as well & wondered if I had to change this value in numerous places to actually make it do what I want.

Never enough time to work on it..... Actually it is frustrating to look at something you do not have time for. I stood next to it for the last 2 days straight working on customer projects & only managed to paint the small steering column to floor bracket. 20 minutes time does not get you...

    Tuning electronic throttle position

Does anyone have experience with adjusting the throttle travel? On my d-max conversion, I would like to shorten the throttle pedal travel. I would prefer to put a stop on the pedal so it does not come up as high.... essentially I would like it to be at idle when the pedal is approx 15% down...

Put a little time in it today. Got a steering column built. Added about 11" to the length & welded on some new brackets. Had a little scare... started welding the extension on the center shaft & the welder immediately sounded wierd & then a loud pop from the steering column. I...

Pat, At least you can sleep at night when you talk a customer out of something they should not buy. I do it all the time..... not a way to get rich for sure.

how much snow you guys getting?

Got about 7-8" today. Cleaned 5" off the driveway at noon & there is close to 3" on there again. Put about 40 miles on the quad today riding the roads. First real snow we got this year, so I'm not complaining.
