New toy - Not a Duramax but it still smokes

I figured I would toss up a few progress pictures since it has been a while. Wheel Cylinders Wheel Bearings

    SB-47 on the ak pistol

Just ordered an SB15 for my AR pistol. These are pretty nice. After shooting a pistol with one of these, I had to have one. Lengthwise it is like shooting a carbine with stock collapsed. Increases accuracy greatly... you can actually shoulder it, although that is not the intended use...

    Pat's new Z28 Camaro.. It's McRat Stock

The ZR1 Vette is mean in comparison to the Z28 or the ZL1 Camaro. Performance wise you made a good choice. The Z28 has a bit of nostalgia & a raw track only spirit, but how can you go wrong with something even faster that you can still listen to the stereo in while cruising with the AC on.

Need help from the wiring pros

I'll text you a schematic. You will need a 24v relay & a fuse for the appropriate total amperage of all 3 lights combined.

    IAT relocation mod on LLY

That Edelbrock sensor looks like the same IAT used in the 87-92 Camaro w/ TPI. Generally you can buy them at most auto part stores.

New toy - Not a Duramax but it still smokes

Starting the upgrades now... Got a bed & now I am working on blasting, painting etc. Here it is while being sand blasted. On its way home in epoxy primer. Now the real fun begins....

Fun car for street strip road race toy??

Actually a carb has an advantage due to it's venturi effect. This allows the atomization & inherent cooling effect of the fuel vaporization. Although minimal it can net a very slight advantage. For a professional racer, yes it may be a slight advantage, but for the average enthusiast, there...

    Question: Traction bar idea?

If you want something that plants the tires, limits axle wrap & does not bind up the suspension, check this out. http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/tractionbar.htm Works like a torque arm suspension found in the 4th gen Camaros.

Fun car for street strip road race toy??

Still seems odd to have a high tech modern engine with Flintstone era carbs on it... especially when places like Hogan & Wilson make some beautiful tunnel ram style sheet metal EFI intakes.

    Question: Traction bar idea?

Basically a shock only dampens movement so it would not really work, as it still permits movement. If it moves enough to make it ride smooth, it will do the same under acceleration. Not saying it will not help some, but it probably will not be a great invention either. You likely want...

Fun car for street strip road race toy??

My friends 01 Z06 went 12.6 with a horrible 60ft. They are very cool out of the box. Added a Procharger, exhaust, & sticky tires & it was a monster, while still getting over 20mpg average (not trying) per tankful.

Syclones are neat. I remember test driving a new one the day it was unloaded at the dealership. They are already going up in value at a significant rate.

    Gearhead. Blessing or Curse?

I see I'm not alone... lol. I have to fight the urge to modify everything I buy. I even pulled the tamperproof plugs on my grass trimmers carb so I could tune it for more power. Typically the costs do not get too bad until you insist you have to be faster than the next guy.... then it is...

Fun car for street strip road race toy??

Used to run like a Dodge minivan. Now with a modified 6.2 it should put down about 430 rwhp. Haven't dynoed it yet to get an exact number. Even put a quiet 3.5" exhaust on it to keep it low key.

Fun car for street strip road race toy??

I built this recently. Lighter than a 4th gen, plus excellent handling. Has a 2011 Camaro LS3 & T-56 in it.

Fun car for street strip road race toy??

For good all around performance it is hard to beat the LS1 Camaro/Firebird. They are pretty cheap now. I have seen some very nice ones for under $10K. Leaves a lot of cash for modifications. Slightly lighter & better handling would be the C5 Vette. You can pick up a Z06 pretty cheap also...

    Blue lasers are fun!

Nice... been wanting a blue laser for a while. Built a 150mW green one for my gun & it goes a mile or so at night. Clearly lights up a 100yd target in broad daylight. Just be very careful a reflection from that one can cause instant eye damage... even indoors off a wall or glass in a...
