Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

Well, turned out to be my biggest fear lol. Weak CP3 causing low rail pressure which is the culprit.

Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

Set up an appointment to get the latest calibrations. Hoping this is what resolves my problem. Would make sense since I keep my truck plugged in pretty much anytime it's 22 or colder (it's a diesel after-all) and since those codes apparently often pop-up when it is plugged in when warmer than 0...

Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

Quick update: haven't had any time to mess with it, but I took it for a drive last night. Finally the CEL came on after I had been driving for about 15 mins. Had the following codes: PO181 (twice) PO116 I had my truck plugged in while it was approx 17 degrees out so I'm assuming that's...

Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

No clue. I would presume the transmission mounts are fine as the trans was dropped when the seals were replaced, and had the mounts been shot they would have notified me.

Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

I don't disagree and I'm not trying to be difficult or nothing. I appreciate all the help but I haven't been working for awhile so money is getting tight for the moment so just trying to avoid unnecessary expenditure. I'll get the fuel filter changed with the fresh one I have laying this...

Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

Okay, learn something new everyday. Lots of information on these trucks out there. Read a couple times from guys saying don't bother with the internal filter, but now I know if I get another Duramax in the future. Hey easy man. Last Friday before it began shifting funny again I had a guy...

Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

Is this a serious issue if it is not changed? According to the service records and corresponding receipts I received, it has been serviced regularly with fluid and external filters. Doesn't appear the internal was ever changed but if the general consensus among non-trans experts is don't bother...

Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

The current fuel filter is an oem AC Delco filter. I'll try and get the filter changed. I've been wondering if I should drop my fuel tank and maybe even try and get it cleaned out. After injector and injection pump problems and if it's dirtying a fuel filter within 600 miles something is clearly...

Serious shift delays, need help, locals guys have no idea

Okay, some of you might remember my thread about my injection pump blowing up. Well, I'm back with another bizarre issue. I'm certain this POS is cursed, but I can't get it to stay running long enough to sell the thing. I have a 2006 LBZ. Bone stock. Well maintained (allegedly). Couple...

    Continued LBZ problems -- died

Well, still not sure what happened. Mechanic figures I had water in fuel as there was some cream-y sort of stuff in the blown up pump. The morning the pump died was especially cold, and he figures it got water into the pump, froze, and then popped the freeze plug off (while also blowing the pump...

For sure. A guy can't help but laugh at his luck. Also didn't mean to post such an obscenely large photo. My apologies.

Oh here's the real kicker: he says the cost to replace the CP3 is $3200. :roflmao:

    Continued LBZ problems -- died

I suppose bad fuel could for sure be a possibility. When I picked the truck up from the shop, it had been at around 1/4 tank and so I fueled it up fully. I also ran a bit of diesel injector cleaner that they gave me. Didn't use more than the bottle prescribed, and hadn't ran any other additives...

    Continued LBZ problems -- died

Well, couldn't find the leak myself. Was dripping off the bellhousing but also pooling in the valley of the engine. Took it back to the shop, he tore into it a bit and found metal shards near the injection pump, looking like a hole is in the side of it. Said it was reminiscent of when an engine...

    Continued LBZ problems -- died

Certainly seems like an external leak somewhere. The truck is unfortunately sitting in a pile of snow, so I couldn't wiggle underneath to get a good look, but near the back of the engine on the undercarriage there is a nice coating of diesel fuel. Starting to think perhaps maybe one of the fuel...

    Continued LBZ problems -- died

Decided to create a separate thread for this issue. My old thread can be found here http://www.duramaxdiesels.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77913 So long story short, I had an injector fail that caused knocking. I got hosed on the replacement of the injector (dad's friend's shop, which is the...

LBZ Running sort of rough around 1400-1700 rpm

Well, the shop I took it to also screwed me I'm pretty sure on the pricing of the injector. 3.3 hours of labour to replace which is fine and I'm happy with, but the part cost on the injector was $917.38. WTF? This was for a Bosch OEM injector. Beyond frustrating honestly. Looking online, Lincoln...

LBZ Running sort of rough around 1400-1700 rpm

Well, just one more update in case anyone's curious or if there's someone having similar problems to me later on. Just got a call from the mechanic, yep injector #6 failed. Three other injectors have poor flow rates but once #6 is replaced it's possible that they'll be more in spec...
