    NSBU help

No. ECM J1-34 is not a ground, this is a P/N signal from the NSBU to the ECM. Ron is advising verifying your ground connectivity. One possible test is to verify (with both C1 and C2 unplugged from NSBU) that C2-D is a solid connection to battery ground.

    NSBU help

    Reviewing the pin functions, with help from the ATSG manual and the GM upfitter manuals. I attached the diagrams. NSBU has 2 connectors - C2 (7 pins) and C1 (4 pins). C1 - A is range switch A C1 - B is range switch C C1 - C is range switch P C1 - D is range switch B C2-A P/N switch...

    LB7 stand alone harness questions

I grabbed a pic of my 2003 GM service manual. It seems to agree more with the Alldata screen shots, in terms of the C1-37 and C1-44 discrepancies the OP pointed out. However, I did note C1-33 shows "crank voltage" in my book vs. Alldata saying no connect. In the transmission chapter, I...

Gear Selector Indicator Not Showing Up With New NSBU Switch

What does the Tech2 read for gear indication when the gear indicator in the cluster is not present?

    04 NSBU wiring diagram

Yup. Same wiring shown in post #2. C1(J1) is 4 position connector, C2(J2) is 7 position connector, and both carry NSBU circuits (also called Park/Neutral Position Switch in the GM manual).

    04 NSBU wiring diagram

This is from my '03, 04 should be same. Sorry, diagram above only had connector C1, I think you're looking for C2. Pinout below. The circuits on C2 appear to be scattered throughout various sections of the manual so let me know if there's a specific circuit you're interested in and I can try...

06 LBZ Slipping Out of Gear

If what you describe is happening while all 4 wheels are on the ground, sounds like you have a problem in the rear axle somewhere. Broken pinion, stripped splines in the side gears, broken axle, axle outer flange bolts sheared off? Consider doing your test again, all wheels on the ground in...

Clicking noise when take foot off gas

What he is asking, is does the clicking noise vary with road speed (mph) or with engine speed? Put the trans in neutral and let the motor idle as your are decelerating. If the noise sticks around, likely related to something in the drivetrain.

    7way connector found under bed

Stud #1 is a 40 amp cartridge style fuse which feeds the +12v wire in the 7 way trailer connector. Wasn't populated from the factory on mine, but once plugged in, this is a direct connection to the battery. Stud #2 is a 30 amp cartridge style fuse that feeds battery power to the relay block...

06 LBZ Slipping Out of Gear

Everything you're describing sounds like a Tcase issue since your problem is strictly in 2hi only. The speedo going to 5mph while sitting still means the output shaft of the trans is spinning while stopped, and that would only happen if disconnected from the driveshaft, ie Tcase is not properly...

    Banks DataMonster or Edge CTS2

I concluded the same thing as Brad and Mark, regarding the iDash Supergauge/DataMonster after searching for a CTS2 alternative on my LB7. Brad, i noticed your post from 2019 mentioned that Banks may have been working on pre-CAN (J1939) product, but apparently that went by the wayside. Bummer.

    Rattle at idle

Good suggestions above. If you still can't find it, I've found a mechanic's stethoscope to be useful in the past when locating rattles, buzzing, and noises. Amazon link to Lisle 52750

06 LBZ Slipping Out of Gear

My son's 05 LLY truck had the same issue. Truck kept going to neutral, then re-engaging. Eventually wouldn't move at all unless he kept his foot on the Tcase shift lever and forced it forward. Tcase shift forks were completely worn out.

    sac45 tune

May want to think about raising the 100% TPS row of your TBIQ (B0720) from 2000 RPM up. If you did this, I believe this means TLIQ (B0741) becomes the overall limiter under WOT, and be easier to tune. I see you've raised the mm3 on the 875 and 1000 Nm rows on TLIQ.

Issues loading tunes after getting a new ECM

I went through this process when I replaced my ECM on my 03 LB7. The old ECM had been loaded with purchased DSP5 tunes via an autocal. Efilive does have a published policy on VIN license replacements here. The Efilive VIN license is married to the ECM serial number as Cougar281 says above, so...

Fuse Box Electrical Fire ( almost)

Holy crap! I guess my first inclination would be to return it to the seller. If the price was right, and they're hard to find, I guess I would salvage it. If the male pin on on the bottom of the circuit board looked good, and there was no burnt looking stuff on the circuit board, i would...
