Here are a few pictures. I had to clean it up and haul it to my buddies shop that has help me out a lot on my trucks and built this motor for his open house. In about 3 weeks it goes to the suspension shop to get back halfed, 4 linked, and narrowing the 11.5" rear end! I'm excited to see it go...
Go to a 3000. I have there 3000 in my old setup and loved it! still streetable without an issue. Lock up just hit hard but that is what I was looking for. You wont regret it!
Made some more visible progress. I spend a lot of time on things people wont see until it's complete lol. But the front tilt clip is making progress. I ordered my struts for it to stand on its own. Then I just need to finish the install of my hood pins to lock it down.
It might not hurt to go up in stall even if it's not the issue. I use to daily drive my 3000rpm converter and it could light my single 475 pretty good. I'm just saying extra stall doesn't hurt especially since goerend will restall one time for free!
New brake master cylinder and hydrobooster that will bolt into the 57'!
New windmill for the truck whenever its back up and running.
Two steps forward one step back. What I was originally planning on for body mounts won't work as I had hoped so time to rethink that part but I have ideas.
I'll sell my S400 kit I pulled of my engine this winter. 5" Intake, 4" down pipe with a HX40 flange, 3" Y Bridge with intercooler pipe, coolant line plug, oil feed and drain lines, and pedestal. Let me know if your interested.
Good luck especially with UCC fast approaching. I know of a rotating assembly that took over 4 months to get and that was many months before UCC hit crunch time!
Maybe but I don't see competitors going for that because of the heat they would be putting through those motors in a short amount of time and a majority are solid blocks. Also doesn't allow the guys that break to fix it in time.
I had to at least set the front clip on it to see how it would look. Yes its hung up on the transmission cooler a little up front that is holding it from sitting on the core support mounts.
Sunday I cut off the original cab mounts so after I get the transmission tunnel cleaned up I can...
Made some more progress last weekend! Just need to clearance the transmission tunnel a little on the inside and give the firewall a little love tap so it doesn't hit the sensor!
