    03 LB7 security light

Might as well poke your head under the dash and look at the BCM. Ensure everything is plugged in all the way. If it looks good, you can start checking continuity on the various power, ground, and data bus pins. I'd upload the pinouts but it looks like they lowered the quota here, so I'm out of...

    03 LB7 security light

Looks like the BCM is fed from 7 (!!) fuses. I'd attach the schematics, but I am out of my storage quota apparently. Underhood fuse block: TBC BATT (10A) TBC IGN1 (10A) Left interior fuse block (open driver's door to access): TBC 2A (15A) TBC 2B (15A) TBC 2C (15A) TBC IGN0 (10A) TBC...

    Confused about fluid coupling issue

It is possible your old converter was hurt/worn out, and that was causing it to slip too much to lock with a stock TCM tune. With the new converter, you probably want a trans tune to move the lockup apply & release points around to take advantage of it. I run a high-stall converter, and it...

DuramaxDiesels.com Forum is up for sale.

This is one of the best forums I've ever been on, and it would be a shame to see it go to a big corporation who will inevitably run it into the ground. Glad you are not going to do that. I wish I had the money to buy it. I have the IT skills to run something like this, but nowhere near enough...

    03 LB7 security light

Interesting that it still starts with the security light on. Does the truck have a tune with VATS disabled? I doubt anything the painter did affected the security system. On the 2003-2007 Classic trucks, the Theft Deterrent Module is just software on the body computer (BCM), and the ignition...

Cold start tuning for big injectors without glow plugs

There aren't really enough data points at low pressure to make a useful calculator, IMO. It would just be guesswork. It looks to me that short pulse widths don't flow as much, as well as low pressure doesn't flow as much. But it is possible it is just low PW. Hard to tell from so little data...

Cold start tuning for big injectors without glow plugs

I'd be willing to take a crack at making a spreadsheet tomorrow. Can you share the actual flow data? If not, can you just 0 out the data and share that so I can see the row and column layout? I'm surprised it's taking that much pulse to start. I'll have to go back and look at your log...

Cold start tuning for big injectors without glow plugs

You said Mark had made some major changes to the cranking torque table to fight the water brake. Since you're now hooked to a transmission just like stock, have you tried the stock cranking torque tables? Then control any excess PW exclusively through the main PW table. Theoretically that will...

    2020 air intake

That is interesting. Seems they're really focusing on access to cold air with the new trucks. Good to see that, really. I know when my intake air temps climb much over 120°F, my truck becomes a laggy pig. I've got a ghetto homemade aluminum airbox that helps keep temps down, but something like...

Cold start tuning for big injectors without glow plugs

Something else I remembered I did is cut the PW table way down in the low fuel pressure + high mm³ range. You shouldn't have a big mm³ demand at low rail pressure except during starting, so that may be a way to cheese the PW down without affecting the rest of the tuning. Especially with the...

Cold start tuning for big injectors without glow plugs

This may seem counterintuitive, but it really helped my motor start nicely in the cold. Pull a TON of cranking fuel. Or reduce desired torque or whatever has the net result of reducing pulse width while cranking. You may be hosing so much fuel in that it's cooling the cylinder a bunch. I ended...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

I'm pretty sure you're referring to part 12191376. Amazon has it for $21, but you might be able to find it cheaper somewhere else. I don't know all this stuff off the top of my head; I just happened to order that exact part earlier this month :D

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

I believe the gasket part number is 16194007. But it's usually $0 to $1 at a junkyard, and they're silicone rubber and don't go bad, so might as well save some bucks if you've got a junkyard nearby. That's what I am running on my Suburban. For the bracket, you can take the CA hold-down and bend...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

That's a 02-04 federal bridge alright. The part at the bottom is a bolt to mount the FPRV bracket to. The MAP sensor goes on the top where the metal sticks out near the heater. If you get a LS MAP gasket from a junkyard, the LB7 MAP will just pop right in. You'll need to make a bracket to hold...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

LockTite totally works on aluminum. Sorry you can't find the right coupler, hopefully you can get something that works for a reasonable price.

    Diff rebuild recommendations

I have a TrueTrac in my '03 for a couple years now and love it. They allow more slip than the G80 in extreme situations (one tire on ice, one on pavement, etc.), but it will transfer the power after a bit and get you moving. On normal roads it's fantastic, puts power down really well and never...

    2007 GMC Sierra LBZ questions

My headliner in my 2003 is starting to come loose on the driver's side at the visor as well. I keep toying with just using spray adhesive to stick it back on there. Has anyone had any success gluing the fabric back on to the insulation/foam?
