    Setup change for towing

That's in the tuning. Keep the torque down and the EGTs down, watch coolant temps and oil temp (or oil pressure as a proxy, that's what I do LOL), and you'll be fine.

    Setup change for towing

I don't mind the slower spool of a larger charger when towing. You might just want to tweak your tow/haul shift points up a couple hundred RPM if you fall off the charger at low RPM, or just shift down manually. I'd leave it, but you may find the lag annoying with a trailer. I don't.

    Setup change for towing

Probably just what you mentioned, put the overload springs back, play with trac bar settings or remove them. And get a tow tune, or just watch EGTs & coolant temps carefully while towing. I tow in a 660 HP tune with a S371, 12mm CP3, and +75% injectors. Just have to pay attention. From what...

    turn them back on

I fired up the client on my Ryzen 3900X. Figure I might as well use it to heat my office instead of the heater  I might start it on my home theater PC too, but that is a i7-3770K @ 4.5GHz which might not be fully stable under sustained load. And the GPU is ancient at this point (GeForce...

    01 3500 security light issue

If you have a friend or a digital multimeter with a memory function, you can do a quick test of the batteries. Hook the meter up to one of the batteries (or the red jump start block near the power steering pump). Start the truck. If the voltage drops below 10 volts while it is starting, the...

    Fuel in coolant

Oh, there are actual droplets of whatever it is floating on top, that makes it easier. Grab a white paper towel or tissue or napkin (that might be hard right now LOL) and carefully dip the corner into one of the droplets. It should absorb up a bit, then pull it out and examine it. Might be able...

    Fuel in coolant

X2, that's a much more likely possibility. I've seen a truck that was so diluted the paper towel trick didn't work. It was basically pure diesel in the crankcase, so no halo because it was all diesel. Owner just thought it was really clean oil LOL That truck is still on the road after new...

    Fuel in coolant

On a stock LB7, there's no interaction between the fuel system and the cooling system. The fuel cooler is to the air. My only guess is his oil is super diluted with diesel, and it is actually mixing oil and coolant, but his oil is mostly diesel? Now if this was a PowerStroke, it would 100% be...

    LB7: SAC-style Injector Life

I went from VCO +100% to SAC75's, and under the same load & acceleration, I see the same EGTs. I suspect it has to do with the tuning, not the injectors.

    LB7: Beating a dead horse

My brother and I both bought S&S injectors through Lincoln Diesel.

    LB7: Beating a dead horse

We put SAC45 injectors in my brother's truck (otherwise stock) because S&S was taking forever to come out with the SAC00 injectors, and with a little bit of tuning, you'd never know it had oversize injectors. No issues controlling smoke or haze. So I wouldn't be afraid to go to at least SAC45...

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

I'm not a boat guy, so can someone explain what the props unhooking means? Is that like cavitation? Like the boat is getting ready to pop up on plane, but it just spins the props like a burnout instead of putting the power down?

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

The Chinese clones of the Tech2 should work. I have one and it has treated me well.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

If you know someone in the area with an EFILive V2 or a GM Tech2, either one should work.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

To really diagnose a no-start on a LB7 you need a scan tool. Then just start working through the prerequisites. Cranking RPM (good CMP & CKP signals), fuel pressure, main injection pulse, ECT+MAF+MAP+Baro are sane, anti-theft, etc. That's assuming the mechanical side is good (crank:cam timing...

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

At least they were built consistently :spit: But seriously, that sucks. We're all pulling for you to get these things on the water!

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

Bogus. I give it a 70% chance of sealing up, but I'm hoping for 100%. I have a coolant leak under powder coat on my truck I'm dealing with, so I feel your pain a little bit. Really hope it seals up for you.

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

Is it a 4 pin plug with 2 wires used? Probably has the pins labeled F and L. If so, seems the LMM alternator might cross reference to a 2005 Tahoe, which I do have the diagram for. They are attached. If it is a 2 pin plug with 2 wires, then it uses a different regulator style, but I can...

    L5p p1089

Does the truck have a lift pump? I saw something like this on a LB7 with the lift pump pressure set too high. ECU would crank on the regulator as hard as it was allowed to, but pressure would just climb, and it would set a code. The other thing that jumps to mind is the regulator is getting...

    LB7: check engine light

Did the code come back on immediately, or once you started driving? You're going to want to find someone with a scan tool and watch the Commanded FRP and Actual FRP values. It could be a plugged filter, or a weak CP3, or failing injectors, or a bad FRP sensor.
