If I remember I’ll look around tomorrow. The one guy I know that has a few is flakey AF to get ahold of, probably why he has a bunch.
I need a new A pillar cover with speaker for my ‘03 and he has 2 so one day I’m just gonna show up at his place and go shopping.
Weird. I can get my hands on half a dozen used A40/A50 tomorrow where I live. Lots of parts trucks around. But I suppose someday you’re right they will become hard to find. Probably not a bad idea to get out in front of the forthcoming issue.
I got lucky towing 1500 miles with a partially plugged injector that was much worse than what you’re describing. But it went downhill very quick and fuel mileage really suffered. I wouldn’t leave it too long if I were you.
Weren’t the T87/T87A much more flakey when it comes to flashing? In my world those are the only TCM’s I’ve ever had brick and hear about more of them than any of the older models. Just curious as to the point of this experiment (albeit very cool)?
Are the A40/A50 getting hard to find or something?
If I were to adjust the scaling in my fuel level sensor table, does anyone know if that will move the gauge accordingly?
When my cluster got new steppers and lights the needle got put on a bit high and I found this summer that it runs out of fuel at 1/8th of a tank now. So I was wondering if...
Cranking for 15 seconds, total return should be less than - 60 ml from the cp3, 20 ml from one bank of injectors, 4ml from a single injector, and 100ml total from the entire fuel system.
I just made a 0 fuel for one of the settings in my dsp5 switch. My switch is kinda hidden out of the way so I just set it to that when I leave my truck. It will crank but never start.
Typically you can get a lot of miles out of the cp3 without issue. Definetly more than what you have on the truck anyways, but shit happens. Might be worth it to do a fuel return test also to verify fuel system component condition.
Did you install a PPE plug or a new FPRV?
Wouldn’t hurt to do a...
Got it changed out. Only ran into a few dicked bolts and some half assery from the mechanic that worked on this previously. Definetly know what I need to order next time around.
Calculated dropped back down to about 9. I got 2 others that are running in the 3-4 range but I’m gonna let them...
So, maybe someone can explain this to me cuz I don’t get it.
I cut out a cylinder with the Autel and efilive, check it with the inductive voltage detector and ALL cylinders still have voltage going to the injectors. I know it’s cutting out a cylinder because I can hear it. So fine, I get out...
Yes they do. And I’ve changed more clean fuel modules and broken/cracked fuel filter housings than I care to mention in our fleet. And of course there’s miles of harness and a bunch of sensors that like to give grief causing derated and whatnot. Typical over engineered cat junk. Their injectors...
Good idea. I don’t have one that’s good for dc but I suppose I could unplug that injector and run a jumper for #4 and see if it still does it. I may even be able to just unpin one wire from the plug if I can find my Delphi kit.
Need to figure out what wires go to #2 injector……yellow I think go...
So almost no smoke at idle, blue haze in gear which goes away when I cut out #2 so I’m gonna start with that one. If the rest come around then great. If they don’t then I’ll start getting things together to change them all. Only 30 000 miles on these ones but I have no idea what they are as it...
