Fender Brace... I knew something was different. Ya guys will have to forgive my ignorance, since I'm probably the only member on here who's never owned a Duramax truck.. Wrenched on a few, but usually that's robbing parts for something they never belonged in....

Interesting... I was thinking the booster assembly blocked it. Well if the T87 doesn't like the radiator for any reason, can always extend the cable and go where GM went.

There are plenty of 4 bangers and six cylinders out there in the bone yards, nobody will likely lift a hood on.. @Cougar281 and I have mastered a little EFI hack that makes those models just as valuable to this swap as one from a 16 Dmax truck. Finally, a reason to rejoice that TCM tuning is...

That pretty much wraps up the hards parts list. Thanks for the numbers and diagrams @pl_silverado. For shits and giggles, what's mounted in that firewall location on A40 A50 trucks?? I recall something blocking that area. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

I agree that a used $50 unit should perform just as well as a brand new. These are a very robust little box. What ya might need from GM dealer is the 2 speed sensors for a 2016 transmission. We've yet to source those part #'s. I'm working on a ACME Adapter Kit for those, but requires more...

Well I didn't finish before Thanksgiving dinner was digested, but I did solve it before Christmas at least.. Thanks to some great help from @Cougar281 and whomever graciously loaned him that LML ECM. Time everyone who wants to do a TCM upgrade to head off to the boneyard and grab ya a T87 from...

I run a 7amp Pyramid on the bench for most light weight work. But noted once ya start emulating crank/cam and firing injector solenoids on the LMM, that 7amp couldn't keep up. So I tee in a little 12v sealed backup battery to act as a cap. Works great for short term flashing and testing. But...

And maybe the server stats on how many page views and file downloads in the other tread came in from China... Since some of those linked files are stored on my hosting server, I'll be curiously checking for countries. Noticed my site has been very popular in RU lately...

Ok, seem I might have spoken to soon.. The photo in link above doesn't seem to be the actual piece sold. Here is another link, and MUCH better price if you order 20 units. FB crowd all over it...

    Chinese FICM

The seller specializes in knock off auto parts, and that's one of the cheapest things on the site.. Open just over a year. I do like the: "Guaranteed Exact Fit for easy installation" yet the picture looks nothing like a LLY unit, has no fuel connectors, and bolt holes are not even close...

That didn't take long. If it's like any of the other canbus hardware I've seen them copy, it will probably bank fire a diesel... Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

Same old black plug Bosch stuck in the FICM, and every other ECU they produced. Some stylish GM engineer obviously felt same as I did, and demanded a change.. That black plug, just made people ask, what's behind this rubber plug??

While they left the ECM mounting alone on L5P, they did finally color match the rubber baro pressure vent plug. Always bothered me how the engineers missed that one over the first 15yrs of production.. [emoji1787] Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

I also now have the raw bin files pulled from both LB7 and LLY FICM processors, which yielded 512KB of total nothingness.. Looks to be straight machine language only, an no common structure between the two. Making nothing stored in there of any use. But a single line of data on one of those...

I was out carlot shopping yesterday, and while I couldn't find a 16, I did locate a 19. What took me while to find under the hood, is now mounted on the firewall as far away from engine as they could stick it. Which tells me GM did realize the radiator was bad spot for mounting electronics...

Sounds like you've spent a good bit of time working on the control side to get it going. Personally I've always believed the injectors could controlled well enough to fire up directly off of an Arduino board. Think I might of said a Teensy, but none the less, congratulation on demonstrating it...

I sorted all the message ID's between an ECM and TCM using recorded LMM and L5P data last night. Made notes on what's shared, what's identical, and what's different. Narrowed the list down to about 6 possible parameters that the TCM could be unhappy about. However I'm using L5P and T87A data as...

LMM stand alone manual shift and high idle?

Yes the shifter lever contains the switch for manual mode, along with the Up/Down buttons and Tow/Haul mode. Everything feeds to the BCM, then is send by CANbus data to the ECM and TCM. You can replace the factory lever with some simple push buttons and resistors to set each mode. Below is a...
