Crank pin and reluctor wheel question

The reluctors on my LB7s don't move at all in any direction. If it was mine, I'd pull the front cover and see what's up.

LLY: Looking to paint match , code brings up wrong color

X2, make sure the VIN on the RPO sheet in the glove box matches the VIN on the body. Not unheard of to swap glove box doors from a junkyard if the factory one breaks.

    That's the ABS.

Injector issues, unable to read in neutral

That's the classic bad injector symptoms. The main rate being so low indicates one or more injectors are leaking constantly, which would cause the smoke and lope. I can't think of any electrical problem that would cause this behavior. 99% it's injectors.

    Ported heads and bigger valves

I dropped 5 PSI of boost going from SoCal Stage 1 heads to the Wagler aluminum as-cast (which I guess they don't make anymore?). Didn't notice much change in spool, saw a much bigger improvement changing out the converter.

    Fixing my LBZ/ truck build

Looks good! The grey/black color scheme is really growing on me.

LBZ: ATI damper seems to small? Honing needed?

I've been able to use the install tool to run it on most of the way, then used the balancer bolt once it has decent thread engagement. I've never heated the hub, but that would help. The tight press fit is a big part of what stops it from spinning vs. the stock balancer, so it's worth fighting...

    Notice Link Broken

I don't have (and probably never will have) a Facebook. So long as that is a way to get more people here, that sounds like a great plan! Hopefully it doesn't leave those of us not partaking in the Zuckerberg empire in the dark over time.

    LB7 Pushrods

For what it's worth, I'm running SoCal beehive valve springs, shift at 3600 RPM (with occasional blitzes to 4800+ RPM during burnouts), and I'm on stock LB7 pushrods. The stock pushrods are designed to run the stock valves at ~4800 RPM during engine braking, and are actually pretty strong. I'd...

    LBZ: Stock Rebuild

Did you eat piston chunks with the oil pump? Because they don't really wear out, especially at 80k miles. I'm running my original oil pump on my built motor, up around 340k miles on the oil pump now. No issues at all. If you took some metal through it (or think you did), then yeah, just replace...

    Truck won't start unless primed

I don't think you can hurt the CP3 with too much inlet pressure. Well, maybe something extreme like 25+ PSI could cause the seals to leak, but you're probably going to be pissing fuel out of your FICM (assuming you didn't bypass it) first. When you crank it without priming first, what does rail...

Cooling question - a little different

The bike isn't helping anything. When I put my bike in front of my radiator, the fan kicks on all the time, even just on rolling hills. But it is such a convenient place for a motorcycle! Fan clutches rarely just die, rather they slowly get weaker and weaker so you don't notice. When it kicks...

    turn them back on

I've got the 3900X configured as a single 23-core unit, and it gets jobs pretty consistently. Not sure why yours doesn't, maybe just luck of the draw. If I can keep everything fed, I can pull 1M+ points/day, but most days the GPU (old 980 Ti) spends more time idle than working. That's their...

Rear Seat lift to accommodate sub box??

If I recall, on the factory Bose trucks, the head unit actually sends a pre-amp level output to the factory amp. I think you can just splice in there. PAC used to sell an adapter that was basically a plug in tee that would give you access to the signals without doing any hacking of the stock...

Major LB7 problems -- need help

I can confirm that parts stores MAF sensors are junk. Had my stock one fail (melted due to high engine bay temps). The parts store one was just off its nut, would read OK until I got some airflow, then jump up and down randomly. Definitely get an OEM sensor. Have you checked for crankcase...

How's everyone doing with this virus crap?

Looks like Idaho is starting the process of getting everyone back to work. There have been a couple of arrests I don't agree with that I'll watch the court cases to see how they play out. Strange times, for sure.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

Yes, the LBZ regulator takes more current than the LB7 regulator, especially at idle. If you have a lift pump, even more so. But that's an easy tune adjustment.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

If you have a stock tune and TIS2Win or TIS2Web, you can do an instant learn. But I've never had that work with a tuned ECU.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

You definitely have a security issue. I'd clear the codes and try the security relearn again. With that code set, you know why it's not wanting to start. If the security relearn fails, you can start diagnosing that whole process. Keep an eye out for codes in the BCM as well. That could be the...

    Info: Newbie help

I wouldn't be afraid of the LB7 (2001-2004) if you are willing to do injectors yourself. If you've done timing belts, etc., you will be able to do the injectors. You will end up buying a couple specialty tools (or wishing you had), like 19mm crows-foot, injector puller, etc. But it can be done...
