    Questions regarding SAC injectors

The LBZ speaks proper CAN, and so does the smog machine, so it can easily read checksums from the ECU. They weren't able to do that for the LB7 because it uses the older GM VPW 1 wire bus, but I know they were looking to try and support it. Maybe they succeeded by now? Man I'm glad I don't live...

    Questions regarding SAC injectors

Hmm, possibly. I haven't lived in CA in years, but you used to be able to sneak a tune through so long as all the monitors worked and the truck passed the snap smoke test. My brother's truck passed CA smog with Industrial Injection +60% VCO (old style) injectors, so with a tune, SAC45s would be...

    Questions regarding SAC injectors

Being cheaper and having the ability for more power isn't enough? IMO the only reason to get the SAC00's is if you live in a state where they are really strict on emissions (California), since they are CARB certified, just drop them in and go. Otherwise, take the savings from going with...

    Questions regarding SAC injectors

I agree, go SAC45. Any competent tuner can get 390 HP with little to no smoke on SAC45 injectors. The SAC45 is cheaper than the SAC00, and leaves your options open for more power down the road. My brother's truck has SAC45 injectors (tuned by me), and it runs great with no smoke unless you're...

2005 lly crank no start after sitting a month

Be very careful with starting fluid. If you disable the glow plugs, that lowers the risk of engine damage, but I still recommend staying away from starting aids on a Duramax. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

Vibration At 40-50 MPH And 75 MPH +

The greasable joints are hollow, and it makes them much weaker, so they un-intuitively don't last as long.

Aftermarket head unit disables compass/ temperature display?

The temperature and compass are completely standalone. You won't lose them. My brother and I swap the Gentex mirror out of the GMT800 in to all sorts of other vehicles to get the temp/compass display. Not sure why Crutchfield has that listed. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

Adding factory Bluetooth to a GMT800

I have the iSimple Bluetooth setup in my Suburban. Requires a 2nd microphone (I put it next to the OnStar mic) but it works great with the TNR800. No complaints about call quality from either end. I'm very interested in how this works out though. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

01-10 steering box redhead ,PSC ,OEM

See, that's exactly what I want in a steering box. My 82 Silverado is just like that, and it's the best. This gives me a lot of hope for this box. I might have to pick one up, even though my Red Top is holding up fine. It's just super stiff in parking lots. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

How long would you run these injectors?

I've run two stroke oil when the FPR starts getting sticky. Seems to help squeeze some life out of a FPR, bit never seen any other positive effects. Or negative effects, but I also run it from 1000:1 and increase up to 500:1 as the FPR keeps getting worse. Beyond 500:1 I never saw a benefit...

    Parking Brake Adjustment

After chasing the issue for years on all my GMT800s, I think I have it nailed down. The parking brake lever assembly itself has a slipper clutch to prevent over-applying the parking brake and stretching/breaking the cables very quickly. Over time, this clutch gets weak, the the pedal just goes...

    Changing radiator hoses

The price difference with the ACDelco parts is because ACDelco makes several types of parts. Their "Original Equipment" parts are the OEM parts. This is what you want if you want the original part. Their "Professional" is equivelant to walking in to a parts store and getting their cheapest...

Lb7 can anybody check this tune

That should work great. I didn't realize the Banks Big Head was adjustable. That's much better than using a increase/bleed valve. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

    No/Very Low Compression While Cranking

It does sound like the cam timing is off. Could be the cam key came out, or the pin on the crank sheared and the gear moved. You'll probably just have to pull the front cover and see what you find.

Lb7 can anybody check this tune

Exactly, he will need a boost increase valve of some kind (which I mention in the forum post where I share the tune). The expected boost tables are already dialed for the PPE boost increase valve, but since the LB7 MAP sensor is only like a 2-bar sensor, it just ends up being mostly maxed out...

Lb7 can anybody check this tune

I'm guessing he is new to the Duramax, and was curious if it seemed reasonable. If I bought a VW TDI, I'd probably be doing the same thing on a WV forum if I found an aftermarket tune in the ECU. Because while I understand tuning software, I don't know what's normal or safe for those engines...

Lb7 can anybody check this tune

Glad you like the tune. What altitude (elevation) are you at? I mostly run 2500-6500 ft (750-2000 m) and have never noticed it rattle. I go to sea level from time to time and it is louder, but I wouldn't say louder than stock. Interesting it makes yours rattle. I'll have to think about that. If...

Lb7 can anybody check this tune

A good tune can do better than 300HP easily on a LB7. This is the one I run on my Suburban and ran on my truck before I built the motor: https://www.duramaxdiesels.com/forum/threads/no-logic-3-0-175-hp.42711/ You can do over 500 HP on a stock LB7 if the CP3 is healthy and you want to roll the...

L5p swap... Anybody know DIESEL ATTITUDE

Do you put a LBZ-style tone ring on the front of the crank? Does the LBZ front cover fit? Pretty sweet setup! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

How long would you run these injectors?

If it is holding pretty steady, I'd keep running it. Maybe go ahead and clean it one more time, but no need to do all the labor to swap injectors yet. Just save up, and it may well keep kicking long enough. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
