Help with 03 duramax CA emissions glow plug/controller issue ☆ problem solved☆

The glow plug controller is pretty smart, and probably detects there are no glow plugs and might not send power to the pins. It looks like the pink wire is working right. Odd that the yellow wire is dropping to 9V or so. I wouldn't think it should. You might verify the wire resistance is low...

Help with 03 duramax CA emissions glow plug/controller issue ☆ problem solved☆

You should have 12V coming from the middle plug pink wire. It sounds like you do not, if I am understanding your earlier tests correctly. That ultimately comes from the "FUEL HT" fuse. Given its proximity to the IAT relay and the previous owner doing some wiring changes to that, I would be...

Low oil pressure on new build using LML/L5P oiling parts

X2, this seems to be the most likely cause. I am hopefully putting my 2020 oil cooler on later this year, and will report if my oil pressures go down at all. I can't see how a cooler would cause lower pressure though.

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

I agree, cracked runner. Intake or exhaust, who can tell, you'll have to pull it apart and see. Could intentionally pressurize the coolant and see if you see it spraying in one of the runners. I have some experience with cracked heads... Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

Why not both? Get the VSS on the databus accurate, if at all possible, then regardless disable the speed limiter. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

How long would you run these injectors?

If the "part number" matches, it is the right base tune file. The CVN is a checksum and would tell you if the tune was modified or not, but you know it is based on the correct OS at least. I don't remember how to check CVN with the Tech2.

How long would you run these injectors?

The Tech2 will show the OS and segment IDs. You can enter your VIN on http://calid.gm.com/ and see what OS it is supposed to have, to see if someone loaded the wrong one.

    Lb7. Blown head gasket

IMO at 600 WHP you are pushing it with stock LB7 rods, even with a turbo and SAC45s. It can be done, and has been done, but your tuning needs to be spot on to keep it alive long term. I run the Victor Reinz / Mahle wave stoppers in my LB7 at 660+ WHP, never had an issue. Definitely the gasket to...

Got a new alarm...I remember why I work on my own shit

My dad bought a used Jeep Rubicon that was all stock except an aftermarket alarm. Sometimes it just wouldn't start, but if you tried again later in the day, it would fire right up. I suspected it was the alarm, and we both feel that alarms are worthless (when was the last time you saw someone...

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

I'm a big fan of using food containers as catch cans. Had an old Jeep J20 with a Mountain Dew 2L bottle as the radiator fluid overflow bottle. Always amused me. Hopefully that sorts out the misfire. I'm looking forward to videos of it running around again! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

    Towing Compounds

According to the factory wiring diagram, the 2005 Escalade ESV had heated+cooled seats. Actually used a Peltier thermoelectric device to do the heating/cooling, so it was properly cooled air. The non-Cadillac stuff only had heat. The later ones aren't even real cooling, it's now just a fan to...

Oil pressure 10-11psi hot idle, fresh rebuild

What about putting the original pump back in? I get upgrading to a higher flow oil pump, but I have never understood why people replace the oil pump with a new identical unit. When I built my motor, I left the stock oil pump alone. 50k miles on the build, and 350k miles on the oil pump, still...

    NO CRANK NO START

That sounds like the ECU is not getting power/ground properly. Check the fuses and grounds, especially the grounds on the engine block.

    NO CRANK NO START

Check the park/neutral switch & wiring. Really just trace through the whole schematic below, and you'll find what is preventing the engine from cranking. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

    Who’s running 35s?

I run 35s on 17" H2 rims, and I get 11-13 in town, 14-16 commuting, and 16-18 on the highway depending on speed. Stock gears, but a built motor with a big single and a cam. I did run 35s on a stock motor (tuned) for a little while before the build, and it only lost 0.5 MPG over my previous...

    Questions regarding SAC injectors

I've always been able to get LB7s to pass, but it's been a couple years. I'd think you could still sneak a tune through, so long as it passes the throttle snap opacity portion. The state is beautiful, for sure, and great weather. But I find myself much happier overall in Idaho. Even Arizona had...

That would make a lot of sense, actually. Though they should be passing that cost back on to the manufacturer/supplier that's mixing up boxes IMO. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
