    Boost valve question

It's only necessary to add a boost valve if you're tuning it. The LB7 has a fixed vane turbo, so while the ECU can add extra fuel to support more boost, the wastegate needs some form of hardware mod to allow it. Replacing the whole wastegate (Banks Big Head, etc.) certainly works, but for a...

    S&B 10-1023 LB7 calibration

I can tell you from when I was calibrating it, I loaded in a tune that was perfectly linear and reported 0-500L, and the dash stops at 999 miles of range. Kind of like how the instant econ stops at 99 MPG. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

    S&B 10-1023 LB7 calibration

That matches my experience with this tank. I put 5 gallons in, then ran the lift pump until it was sucking air and got about 3.5 gallons out before I figured the truck wouldn't really run anymore. Looks like you came up within 0.2 gal of my capacity measurements, so that little fuel meter must...

    What's your favorite mod?

Because I'm weird, I'd say the AutoTrak transfer case conversion. Having that "Auto" button on the 4x4 amuses me to no end. And comes in handy on slick roads. The TrueTrac limited slip differential is pretty great too. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

    S&B 10-1023 LB7 calibration

As with all my scripts, they are in metric, so set EFILive to metric first! I just installed a S&B 10-1023 "62 gallon" fuel tank. By my measurements, it is 56.2 gallons total, with about 54.7 gallons usable through the included fuel basket. Might be able to sneak a bit more out through the...

03 gmc 8.1 starts then dies, PLEASE HELP

The "battery not charging" message is probably because the engine died, not why it died. The alternator might be fine. You'll need to check the basics: * Security (does the security light go out or stay on, etc.) * Fuel pressure * Etc. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

    Hard Downshifts Allison 1000

With my built motor's cam+converter+lowered compression combo, trans tuning was a must before it would get out of its own way. I dialed that in back in 2013 and some 40,000 miles later everything works perfect. Though I had tweaked the shift points even with the stock motor, and that trans...

    White Letters or Not?

How long would you run these injectors?

Is the spiral piece of "metal" actually just some lock-tite from the last cup install? I've had them come out in one piece like that before. If it is green, they might have used the bearing retainer (green) instead of high-strength red lock-tite (which would explain why it was so hard to remove...

How long would you run these injectors?

If your FPR is starting to get sticky, might as well replace it with a LBZ one. Otherwise, I'd run the CP3 you have until it can't supply the fuel for the power you need. I've made well over 450 HP on a 300k mile CP3, so you're probably fine with your 155k mile unit. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013...

    DOC removal

X2, what are you trying to accomplish here? Removing the DOC has basically no benefits. Some people with the LB7 report a tiny mileage improvement removing it. The LB7 came with a DOC in CA, but most states do not require it. So removing it is potentially legal in some states. Newer models, not...

    Engine hours reset??

The cluster, at least through 2006/2007 classic, tracks the odometer and hours separately. The only thing it reads from the ECU is oil life and fuel filter life. I would not be surprised if the 2007+ is similar. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

    2020 Federal vs. California emissions

CA won't allow you to register a new federal emissions vehicle, but will allow you to register used ones. There are exceptions for military and probably a few others, but generally if you are getting a new vehicle and live in CA, it needs to be CA emissions. I also thought the new trucks were...

2005 Silverado Duramax LLY Crank No Start, please help

99% of these trucks never have a temperature or exposure related computer failure, so putting them under the dash would be, at best, an unnecessary expense. Heat hasn't been a problem for automotive electronics for decades (except possibly Ford FICMs). So much so that most modern transmissions...

2005 Silverado Duramax LLY Crank No Start, please help

I'm not sure if the case is supposed to be isolated or not. As for running it dry, I've been running my LB7 FICM dry in the stock location since 2015, and more than 40k miles. Not using any heat sink or anything, it's just sitting there. Works great. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

How's everyone doing with this virus crap?

See, I have a problem with that kind of law too. Not wearing your seatbelt only kills you, with some possible contrived rare exceptions. Not only is our society scared shitless of the natural course of life (all life ends in death), but we are also scared of the concept of someone else dying. I...

Help with 03 duramax CA emissions glow plug/controller issue ☆ problem solved☆

According to the diagnostic process I posted earlier, it should never be above 5.6 V. According to the schematic that I posted in the other thread that you found and posted here, C2 pin B (pink/yellow) is ground. Since you are seeing voltage on the ground pin, I would start examining engine...
