Right, but if you used to be able to flash the ECU with EFILive, and now can't, something changed. I don't think the security learn needs done before an ECU flash, but I don't know for sure. Curious how this turns out. Sent from my FlashScan V2 using Tapatalk- DAVe3283

You should be able to flash the ECU without a security learn l. If the ECU isn't flashing, there's possibly something on the bus that is interfering with the flash. Could explain what happened to the first BCM as well. Sent from my FlashScan V2 using Tapatalk- DAVe3283

It sounds like somehow the dealer messed up the BCM flash, and now it has a partial program (or no program) loaded. You'll need to get the BCM flashed properly, or go to the junkyard and get a spare if they bricked yours. Do you have an aftermarket stereo or alarm? You probably need to unplug...- DAVe3283

LB7 fuel line clean up in the valley ??
It is still there. The factory return hard line from the back of the left head about halfway forward is stock, including the fuel temp sensor and quick-connect for the outlet. I cut it off short and flared it to AN, then attached all my custom hard lines to it. You can sort of see the AN... -
Promaxx Heads - Thoughts?
I went through 3 sets of SoCal stage 1 heads, every one leaked coolant. The stock castings are thin enough you are rolling the dice pretty hard when you port them. I wouldn't recommend it. I ended up with the Wagler aluminum heads (they don't seem to make them anymore) which have been flawless...- DAVe3283

What are you paying for Diesel in your area?

Reman injectors

Get a factory water pump, some of the cheap aftermarket units have caused problems with gear mesh. When you pull your pump off, look for pitting inside the housing. If there is minimal pitting, just replace the pump. I've even reused the housing with pretty severe pitting before. Sent from my... -

Update on this: Mike had disassembled the injectors to clean them. Disabling injectors #1 and #3 (also tested by unplugging #3) would cause a loud knock. Balance rates were all -4 except #4 and #8 which were +12. Mike found a shim sitting on the workbench, so he pulled the injectors back apart... -

In theory, no. I usually roll it so that I'm tightening the crank bolt, so I don't have to worry about me yanking on the gear wrench too hard LOL -

I always set them to 11-12 thousandths. 11 runs a tiny bit quieter (or in my head it does 🤣), never had any problems with 12. If in doubt, go with 12, no point experimenting until you sort out the root issue. -

The GM procedure is to rotate the crank 360° back to TDC. Like gmduramax and you said, you can just move the engine until the valve fully closes, then adjust it. That will work fine, but takes a lot longer than the GM procedure, which only needs it rotated to 2 spots. -

I am out of town for a couple days, but when I get back I can swing by, if you don't get it sorted out by then. On the LB7 & LLY there is a timing mark for TDC on cylinder #1 (near the cam position sensor). I would be surprised if the LBZ didn't have one too.
