    There is also an issue with the float arm catching the filler tube in the front tank iirc and causing a big issue as well with these trucks. Had a dealer send me a picture of this issue after a long battle with this same issue.

    Exactly, we have seen a ton of them broken with Fluidampners also. It is a design issue plan and simple. Block really needed to be 2" longer so the crank could have thicker throws. Marketing at it's finest...:rolleyes:

    How much boost before you float the valves?

    60psi at 4500rpms is where my original lbz motor in White Lightning would float. 5200rpms with 40psi never had an issue. It's a combo of the two and the shape that the springs are in also that will determine when they start floating and you will know it quickly as it makes a really distinct sound!

    This would be my guess because that is hell on gears being unloaded and reloaded, like someone who can't/shouldn't be drive a manual trany! Just takes the perfect situation to find the sweet spot and pop goes the weasel so to speak.

    This is going to be a sweet truck when you are done! My oldest son has an 85 GMC Sierra c1500 that we are doing a body swap with an 06 GMC Envoy XL with the 5.3L in it. That way he has the square body look with all the 06 features like abs etc. Keep it up boss!

    Sounds like the first sensor was junk but the maf calibration needs to be raised to match the intake you have on it since it is reading about half of what it should be at idle. That's where I would start with it.:thumb:

    I'm with James, we did the Banks on our truck here and it is 100% stock with just the Derringer on it. Picked up 62hp at the tires and works nice. I think you would still see a nice gain from it James because it does increase the boost level 6psi over the stock setting which would benefit you...
