My takeaway from the GM diagnostic is check the low reference (ground) for the crank signal, not just the crank signal itself. Maybe that pin backed out? Hopefully it's that simple! Sent from my FlashScan V2 using Tapatalk

DTC P0370 or P0374 Circuit Description The engine control module (ECM) replicates the signal received from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. This signal is sent to the fuel injection control module (FICM) through the engine speed signal circuit. The FICM uses this replicated signal to...

There are really good dedicated boost converter ICs now with integrated FETs that I'd recommend for new designs. Likely get less ripple and no need for a microcontroller to run things. Still have an enable pin if we had to shut it down for whatever reason. But I suppose given the voltage...

If it is like you show and the FETs are on the high side of the injectors, they have to be used with a driver chip. The gate needs driven to a higher voltage than the source, and we know the control pins are only 5V, but the gate/source are ~48V. Edit: haven't had my caffeine yet, your diagram...

I am guessing the 2 separate power circuits are what get turned off separately when the FICM detects a fault (short/open on injector) and goes into "tractor mode". I would not be surprised if there is one big FET per power supply so the OS can turn off the failed output without taking out a...

Hmm, I wonder if a low-level OS mod could invert the injector control lines? The LLY ECM always looked pretty similar internally to the LB7 to me, but they might have different output stage hardware. But I could also see it being a software change, like GM moving the pins around on the van vs...

    2002 Allison spiking heat temps

Never seen a P1621 on a stock ECU, only with an emulator soldered in (e.g. RoadRunner). Interesting. The Snap On scan tool should read the real transmission codes, which will hopefully let us know what is happening. It is possible that if the torque converter isn't able to lock it would run warmer.

Use a good scan tool and see what the history codes in the ABS module are.

    Dual Fueler issues, HELP!!

It sure sounds like the PPE controller isn't sending enough current to the 2nd pump. But what are the odds of 2 of them being bad? Can you measure the current going into the 2nd pump with a multimeter? You'd have to cut one of the wires to the regulator and put the meter in-line, or dig up a DC...

    Changing turbo setup

Their printer was broken, but I grabbed a snapshot of the dyno graph. Since HP is measured, and torque gets back-calculated, I believe it is pretty straightforward to back-calculate the true torque since I know the claimed and true RPM for the run. The graph showed me revving out to 4150, but...

    Changing turbo setup

Went down to the Northwest Dyno Cicruit event in Jerome, ID yesterday to see what the new turbo setup does. Running 2000 μs pulse, but timing is just a best guess, so there may be more on the table. With the current setup, my SAC75 injectors are the limit now. It put down 789 HP and ~1150...

    Fleece Cupless heads reviews/updates/opinions etc?

Had a set on my Suburban for about 9 months now. Heads seem quality, and the machine work / prep on them was all done well. They appear to be very close to stock design, so don't expect any power increase. I got them on sale and they worked out about the same cost as redoing my current heads and...

What did I get myself into..

Make sure you put the rear seats back in before deciding if it helped or not. It is amazing how much sound the seats themselves absorb. Sent from my FlashScan V2 using Tapatalk

Torsion bars are set to stock ride height (stock keys). Can't really turn it down without the 35" tires murdering the cab. I have a front ARB Air Locker, but I haven't used it on the pavement yet, so it was open diff for that video. Steering setup is: Stock centerlink (20k miles) DHD...

    Changing turbo setup

I'll have to get a video of the sound at some point. I recorded the drag race in-cab with a 1st gen GoPro, but those things are a potato by today's standards. If you want to try and hear them over the garbage-grade microphone, here you go: Source: https://youtu.be/RmFiJmt5OmY?t=165

    Changing turbo setup

Heh, that was the shop recharging the A/C. Pity they didn't vacuum any of the air out first, or put on a new dryer, since it was open to the moist air for 6 months... Oh well, I recovered it and vacuumed the water out (took 4 hours to boil off), and A/C actually works now. I plan to redo the...

    Fuel in oil

Don't get reman lines, especially from Lincoln Diesel. I bought a set that were worse than my factory lines when they arrived, and getting them to stand behind them was like pulling teeth. The new aftermarket options are intriguing, but I don't have any experience with them. Sent from my...
