After I towed my truck home, the next morning I immediately removed the Banks. I was only goin to use it as a gauge cluster.(that's all its good for anyway) I will check my balancer for wobblin, even though the engine will only run for a few seconds...
I was pulling a 5th wheel camper two days ago and has my'09 3500 DRW on CC at +- 80. We were pulling a slight South Mississippi hill when the truck down shifted, I heard a medium volume pop, I thought I blew a hose to my heater core, but the sound came more from the middle of the truck to the...
I finally fixed it, then heater core fittings are a booger to get to... But that's all it was... Thank ALL of y'all for the help. I really appreciate it.
My rig usually weighs over 11,500 lbs when I break the motor mounts. This is because it normally has a custom welding bed, a diesel 250 amp Lincoln Weldin machine, two bottles of oxygen, a bottle of acetylene, and tools on it.
Thank Y'all Very Much, I'll check those spots and let y'all know...
The lines going to and from the turbo should be easy for me to find. A co-worker diagnosed it as the heater core hose, but I couldn't find the heater core lines earlier. I was under the hood and the trans. Thank Y'all, I'll check those spots out first thing in the mornin....
I let my foot get off into the throttle a lil too hard this mornin, and somethin gave. I noticed a cloud of white smoke and smelled coolant. When I pulled over it was pouring coolant from around the back top center of the engine. I can see my egr delete hose and It's not leakin.. Best I can tell...
Alright thank you, now all I have left to fix is my hood latch sensor and a few other sensors, I'm tryin to get my check engine light off. It's been a long expensive, losing battle so far.
I really appreciate y'alls input. The egr delete did away with my grid heater, How will this affect my cold cranking?? I work Pipeline and I seem to always be up north in the winter... Also, has anyone had issues with their Hood latch sensor saying that the hood is open?? Mine ain't Workin so I...
I definitely am, this guy is more of a Ford mechanic. I only used him because Im Workin out of town, I'm in Little Rock. He did call me yesterday though informing me that the sound was my egr delete, that he installed. He told me that he got a different gasket and sealed it off better...
Now my dang turbo is makin a funny sound but it's not throwing a code... My mechanic said to work on it we'd have to pull the cab just to get to it... WTH GM!?
When it overheats pulling my camper it's damn near pegged all the way on my dash gauge. I don't have a pyrometer or any extra gauges or screens... I try to stick with the KISS method... Ha but I would definitely accept any and all recommendations. I really appreciate y'all.
It would do it before the bumpers, and it's only occasionally. Yeah the lift and tires don't make it more efficient for anything more than Offroad. But I'm a Pipeliner so I drive Offroad ALOT more than the average person... I'll change the thermostats too for sure.
Nosir, I don't have a pyrometer. And thank y'all I will definitely give the radiator a thorough cleaning. But I don't know how or where to check for boost leaks...
Just clean the fins, wash the bugs, dirt, and debris out, or flush it out?? I'll most likely do both but, just wonderin. I'll definitely look into the fan clutch. And what about inner coolers and oil coolers and all that?? Would any of that help if these don't so much?? And Would Methanol...
My 07 LMM wants to run hot/ over heat. It is most common when I am pulling a load, (42' fifth wheel, 26' boat, or even my side by side) in hilly terrain, and sometimes when I just run the hell out of it. I have the usual base upgrades. Tuned, exhaust, intake, egr and dpf delete. What can I do to...
