Got my AirDog II pump in this week, I'm going to install today. Any special tips or pointers?
I know I need the fuel line disconnect tools to get the lines apart. Anything else special? Also, is this a flow thru design pump? Say if the pump fails will the truck still run?

ADII doesn't require the Pickup.
Pump is flow through, so no worries about that. Nothing much to add on install, pretty straight forward. Good luck.

whats the differance between the ad and adII? when did they change?
eta, i did mine with the bed on, although i had a filter assm already on and when i did it i lowered the tank. so based on that you need the room to do it right. either the bed or the tank. while your in there do the kennedy mod to the sender by switching the feed line to the vent hose side more flow.

My AD came with a pickup, but I didn't put it in yet. My fuel pressure gauge is still reading 11psi at idle and drops to about 8 at WOT.

The way I understand it, you don't have to drop the tank or remove the bed, hence why I spent the extra money for the 2nd Generation. Hopefully there will be plenty of room.

The AD II is a new design, that is demand flow; Meaning that it only pumps as much fuel as the CP3 needs, which means less fuel/air being returned to the tank. This is why you can use the stock sending unit. It also has an adjustable pressure regulator, so you can choose what psi you want the pump to pressurize to.

get ready to fight with the 1/2" line, took me a good 30 minutes to get that line apart because its fairly tight spot (depending on what route you go, there is two ways to install it) but after that its very easy. also check to make sure they sent you the right 3/8" female by 1/2" push-lock fitting, i got a 1/4" female instead of the 3/8" and had to wait 2 weeks for a new fitting to be sent to me but im up in Canada

It's installed, it's pretty quite.
I like it so far, I don't know if I can feel a difference though? Is the pressure preset on this, or do I have to turn it up?

just run a new line from the pump to the inlet on the cp3,or just remove the filter housing, and hook them to lines to each other its as easy as that
